KANPUR: Not only the daily temperature recorded at a higher level in the city but there was registered an increase in the Corona cases along with a rapid rise in the petrol price here.
All these things increase concerns of the public at large.
The daily temperature on Tuesday evening was not less than 40 degrees Celsius, though the real feel was more than recorded weather. The residents were not feeling comfortable without the electricity-driven cooling appliances.
What remained worth appreciating in the day was that no cut in the electricity supply was effected in view of the weather at least Jajmau area.
The people driving the vehicles were looking long faced with the petrol price rising above Rs 75 per litre. Several said this would hike the prices of the vegetables instantly. This was clear with the sudden spurt in the respective prices of the onion and potato in the open market.
As regards the coronavirus cases a surge was noticed as 18 new patients in the city were registered on Monday. One Covid death was also reported on Sunday. The Health Department was keeping constant eyes on the daily development of the patient's recoveries also.
