KANPUR: Depositing electricity bill at the single computerised window counter at the power sub-station near JK Colony in Jajmau here remains the harrowing task. The tin shed where the consumers stand in the queue for reaching the window gives a big discomfort to them. The shed becomes quite hotter in the day time. As a result, the consumers try hard to suffer the harsh temperature. They have to tolerate however hot the shed turns in the bright sun.
The consumers find no rescue amid the hotness pervading over the head. One consumer told: "We have to bear with the harsh situation as depositing the electricity bill remains our primary concern." Another perspiring consumer said: "We are not getting even shaded cool space to save ourselves from the heat despite being regular depositors."
Strangely enough, the clerical staff sitting inside the room enjoy every amenity but the honest consumers fret and fume under the burning tin shed.
