KANPUR: If on one side there is a demand for a fee waiver, the parents are sore over the prices of some text books prescribed by the posh schools. All of the books are not related to NCERT. This is another distress of the guardians at the time.
Though the online classes have been running for the students, they are not able to get the books highly-priced by the private publications. If we take into an example of one Hindi book of class VII it comes at nearly four hundred rupees while all the prescribed books of the NCERT are not that much expensive.
One of the parents said: What was the logic behind prescribing costly books when the payment of fee remains a tangible issue?
Others maintained: The school authorities should also understand the problems of the guardians at this time of crisis.
Third quipped: Could knowledge not be gained by cheaper books? Prescribing costly book should not be a normal stance.
Fourth expressed: It seemed that the authorities concerned have no control over the pricing of the books.
