RAMALLAH, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- A senior Palestinian official said on Thursday that Palestine will address official letters to the United Nations over the Israeli violations against the Palestinian people in their territories.
Omar Awadallah, head of public administration for UN human rights organizations with the Palestinian Foreign Ministry, accused Israel of expanding the cycle of its violations against the Palestinian people.
"We will brief the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Israel's plan of annexation and the increasing illegal construction of settlements," Awadallah told reporters.
Awadallah did not say when the Palestinian side will send the official letters to the UN.
Meanwhile, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will chair a meeting of the Executive Committee of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Ramallah later on Thursday, according to Azzam el-Ahmad, a committee member.
"The Palestinian leadership is in a status of open-end meetings to follow up the dangerous situation that threatens the Palestinian cause, mainly the Israeli plan of annexing parts of the West Bank," he told the Voice of Palestine.
