India: Young souls are devoid of compassion these days

Kanpur: Ever noticed or experienced that you are sitting on the seat in one corner of a government office, and one enlightened person asks you to vacate in a rude way.

This was experienced by one elder person on the first floor of the Head Post Office here recently. He was waiting for the counter clerk as the lunchtime was not over. He was looking quite tired. Rest was the only option for him to energize afresh.

In the meantime, one girl along with her supposed to be grandparent appeared and asked him to vacate the chair. Her only emphasis was that a senior citizen should be given more preference. But why did she want to remove one elderly person for another aged person? Did she possess no compassion for the weary person? Why did she not ask others to get up?

Being an educated young lady she must have shown some good manners. But she did not exhibit humility. Irritated with her insistence the elder exhausted man stated why were you contending unnecessarily?

She appeared wholly interested in procuring space for her relative caring a fig for another's pain. This was a height of selfishness as others expressed looking at the whole drama.
