ISLAMABAD, Sept 26 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan, said that, the Afghan stakeholders should work together, to secure an inclusive and comprehensive political agreement through Afghan-led and Afghan-owned process, the Prime Minister Office said.
In a telephone conversation with Afghan President, Ashraf Ghani, Khan emphasised the importance of all Afghan parties working for reduction in violence, leading to ceasefire, and said, his country will fully support the decisions that the Afghan people will take about their future, the statement added.
“The prime minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support to the Afghan peace process and noted the positive results of these efforts culminating in (the) U.S.-Taliban Peace Agreement and the commencement of Intra-Afghan Negotiations,” said the statement.
“He also appreciated the steps taken by relevant sides to enable the start of Intra-Afghan Negotiations in Doha,” added the statement.
The two leaders also discussed bilateral ties, with Khan saying that his country attached great importance to constructive engagement with Afghanistan and wished peace, stability and prosperity for the Afghan people.
