India: Bar Association polls remain still uncertain

Kanpur: Such general discussion roams at the Collectorate that the Bar Association elections have once again be postponed because of non-appointment of observers. Candidates are also discouraged by this very outcome.

It was quite pesky that the elections were proposed to be held in March 2020 but it could not be held. During this time, a complaint letter describing irregularities relating to the polls were reported to the UP Bar Council.

As a result, there was imposed a stay on polls. Following improvements in the situation, the Elders Committee announced the polling date and it was fixed for October 5.

Upset with the Elders Committee, the candidates have raised query over the legality of the panel. In turn, the committee chairman puts a stay on the elections on Wednesday, as was reported.

A demand to appoint two observers for the elections has been made through a letter to the UP Bar Council. Without a doubt, several months have been passed since the elections are due. There is a complete actuality that the poll dates are going to be extended further.
