Kanpur: There is a pressing need of a Fire Station in Jajmau here. Demand from the tannery owners has been recently raised. They stated if the new fire station is opened in this prominent area of the city, their trouble will be resolved extensively.

Explaining their points the tannery owners said that the present fire station existed at a long distance of 8-km from this place. Therefore they have urged the divisional commissioner, Dr Raj Sekhar, to consider over their request in an urgent manner.

Evaluating their particular piece of demand the Commissioner during his inspection of the under-construction 20 MLD CETP in Jajmau area on Saturday assured them of sending a proposal to the State Government for identifying an area of land within a month. So that the fire station could be built there.
