PHNOM PENH, Jan 20 (NNN-AKP) – Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Prak Sokhonn, will participate in the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat, to be held tomorrow, via videoconference, said a foreign ministry’s press statement today.
The retreat will follow up on the leaders’ guidance from the 37th Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), focusing on key areas like ASEAN Blueprints, ASEAN Community building and ASEAN Community Vision Post-2025, the statement said.
“ASEAN Foreign Ministers are expected to also discuss ASEAN’s post-COVID-19 recovery plan and engagement with the global community,” it added.
Brunei will lead ASEAN process this year, under the theme “We Care, We Prepare, We Prosper” with three key priorities that mainly focus on harnessing the caring nature of ASEAN; preparing and adapting for the future; and creating opportunities for the benefit of ASEAN people, the statement said.
ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
