Kanpur: When the Corporation elections also close near, the Nagar Nigam finds its House quite a bit noisier.
Although the NN elections are still not going to be held in the coming eighteen months yet the clamour during the opening of the House remains unavoidable.
The first two sittings of the House were not bereft of clamour but the third sitting of the House was called on Tuesday did not touch that sort of tension. The Mayor told the corporators not to create ruckus and follow discipline in the letter.
Strictly cautioning the Corporator of Dalel Purwa she suspended him for six months for showing the unpleasant image of statue set up at the said area crossing. He exhibited the statue inside the House.
Taking into view the Mayor instructed the NN team to demolish the uncomfortable statue at Dalel Purwa crossing.
On Tuesday no officer from the Jal Nigam attended the House. One officer from PWD and One from Irrigation Department were present.
The Corporators asked the Assistant Engineer ( Irrigation) to initiate cleaning of junks along with silt taken out of the canal.
One Corporator put up how has Barrage water diverted towards Unnao. This would cause a water shortage in the city areas.
Now, the Nigam authorities appear to have awakened from slumber as was decided to provide ten LED lights to each Ward.
Thus, a total of 1100 new lights will be installed. Five LED lights will be given to a total of ten nominated corporators.
Besides, as many as 576 vacant electric poles will also get lights.
Hand driven garbage carts and safai workers will also be enrolled for keeping the city neat and clean.
As many as 250 carts will be bought and dispatched to the Wards, said the Nagar Ayukt A Tripathi.
The Mayor Pramila Pandey asked the Corporators to furnish details about the vacant posts of safai workers in their respective Wards.
The safai workers will be enlisted through outsourcing vacant for the past three years.
A four-member committee will be constituted to enquire into the matter of the increased house tax since the year 2016.
Side by side a committee consisting of officers from sections like Legal, Audit and Accounts and Corporators will be formed. It will determine the house tax.
