Kanpur: The up-gradation work of the surgery department's OT complex at medical college has been halted since the outbreak of corona's second wave.
Neither the renovation progress nor the patients are getting the facility of operation.
A huge sum of Rs 20.58 crore has been proposed for converting the complex into a modular operation theatre.
The state government has released a sum of Rs 2.67 crore on March 7, 2019. The work that began after the first wave of the corona was discontinued after the second wave of the pandemic.
There are eight OTs at the surgery department while as many 3 OTs function at emergency block.
Though there is still hope of the start of the work, none knows of the day.
The GSVM principal Dr Sanjay Kala assures of removing whatever obstacles in the completion of the development work .
