Kanpur: The metro coaches will arrive here by the first week of September. The rakes are reportedly assembled for the final run at Polytechnic here. It is worth noting that the rakes were supposed to be arrived by September's end previously.
A transport arrangement is being ensured to bring the rakes. All the transport-related formalities, including the assessment of the designated route, have also been conducted, it was reported.
As many as, three metro coaches are being carried by road from Gujarat to the city.
Each of these three rakes are 30-meter long, forming about an 89-meter-long trail. The aches will be compressed in various trailers to secure perfectly efficient conveyance.
There is also a plan to deploy a team of officials to lead the wagon of coaches.
This task force will be equipped with wireless transmitters to ensure communication between the different trailers, during the transit route.
Once compiled into polytechnic units, the three coaches will encompass to ferry a total of 970 passengers in a signal run.
It has also been made clear that the middle rake can bear up a weight of 340 daily commuters. The other two coaches can support up to 315 passengers, each.
The rakes of Kanpur Metro are more energy-efficient than the coaches plying in Lucknow. A regenerative braking system is brought into use to conserve energy in the metro rails, as was detailed.
The Kanpur Metro is pegged to put by 45% of energy, rather than 38% of the Lucknow Metro.
