Kanpur: Amid an outbreak of dengue cases in various districts, Dr MK Saraogi said that Single Donor Platelet (SDP) machines can help dengue patients get early access to platelets.
Every hospital has single donor platelet (SDP) machine nowadays. This machine makes easier to donate platelet for the donor at the fastest time.
Lauding the efforts of the UP government Dr Sarogi said: "A donor can donate the platelets at a faster pace with the help of this advanced machine."
This is so because a donor can now donate the required platelets to dengue patients in lesser time.
Further, he implored the dengue patients to bring along donors of the same blood group while coming to the hospital.
The machine is very effective for the patients and donors can also recoup within two to three days, say, the doctors.
Viral fever and dengue spread every year in the country during this weather.
Talking about the patients from remote areas, he said that they should get admitted to well-equipped city hospitals whenever their condition begins deteriorating.
An ICU in-charge, Leelamani hospital, Sonali Singh said, "Every day, at least 2-3 viral or dengue fever patients get admitted here.
Cases of dengue and viral fever have been on the rise particularly among children.
In Uttar Pradesh, the government takes all the possible steps to control the outbreak of viral and dengue fever.
To get on spot information, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the Autonomous State Medical College in Firozabad recently.
He inquired about the health of children admitted to the hospital. He even instructed the officials concerned to send special teams to Mathura, Mainpuri and Firozabad districts to initiate appropriate steps to contain vector-borne diseases.
