TEHRAN, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian voiced on Friday Iran's "full satisfaction" regarding the official launch of the procedures for Iran's accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the SCO's summit in Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe.
"We are fully satisfied that the document of Iran's permanent membership in the SCO has been approved in Dushanbe by the (member states) leaders," Amir Abdollahian wrote on Twitter.
The diplomat termed Iran's full membership in the SCO as "strategic" for Tehran, and said it would have an "important impact" on Iran's multilateral cooperation in the framework of its foreign policy "oriented towards neighbors and Asia."
