Kanpur: Presence of attendees has been limited at 100 as disapproved of the prior count of 50 persons. Besides, any organiser who invites over 100 guests will be prosecuted, informs the police officials.
In a meeting held at the Police Lines the police department has taken a few steps to establish and release pandemic protocols, to exclude the chances of the expected 'third wave' of coronavirus during festive celebrations.
The review meeting was attended by the Police Commissioner, ACP (Law and Order), along with other officials to finalise the preventive strategies.
On one place people were urged to steer clear from crowds and subscribe to COVID-19 norms as they indulge in the merry celebrations.
On another hand, strict restrictions have also been imposed on all festive processions and yatras.
Traditions will not wane even if people do not participate in big gatherings or crowds, the Police Commissioner reportedly stated.
Meanwhile, the administration has also issued a toll-free helpline number for the benefit of the city dwellers.
They can now dial 18001805159 to draw attention on any civic issues like road lights, drinking water supply, sanitation and power supply.
All public complaints will be resolved via this phone line, it has been released.
Prior permission has been made mandatory to organise any social, cultural and religious programme or event in the City.
The administration has decided to set up new help desks. Officials from all departments, namely the PWD, KMC, KESCo and Police will be deployed to help public.
This one-stop provision will guarantee that organisers do not have to run from one department to the other to seek approval.
Besides, the Municipal Commissioner stated that operational hours for all shops, vegetable and fruit vendors along with street hawkers will be announced soon.
This decision will help prevent overcrowding in market places during festive hours.
