RAMALLAH, Oct 15 (NNN-WAFA) – Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian young man last night, near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, Palestinian security sources and eyewitnesses said.
The Palestinian young man, whose identity wasn’t immediately known, was shot dead by Israeli soldiers, in the town of Beit Jala, west of Bethlehem, the sources said.
Israeli soldiers opened fire at two Palestinian young men, killing one of them and wounding the other, according to eyewitnesses.
Meanwhile, the Israeli media reported that Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian and arrested another, after they tried to throw a molotov cocktail at Israeli settlers’ cars, near an Israeli army roadblock between Bethlehem and Jerusalem.
According to official Palestinian figures, since 1967, more than 600,000 Israeli settlers have lived in 140 illegal settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, home for more than three million Palestinians.
Israel occupied the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which are claimed by the Palestinians, in the 1967 Middle East war, and has controlled them ever since. The Palestinians want to establish their independent state on these territories.
