India: First patient of Zika virus found in Kanpur

Kanpur: Is a serious disease spreading? The dread of Covid-19 is still not over. In such a grim situation there remains a possibility of another deadly infection.

For it, a team of experts from Delhi has reached here and samples of those who came in contact with the one patient have been sent for thorough examination.

Official sources asserted that the patient is an Air Force Station personnel. He is admitted to an Air Force Hospital.

The first patient of Zika virus has been found in Kanpur. The health department sent the patient's samples to Pune for testing.

After his result came out to be positive, the area was sanitised by the municipal corporation.

Kanpur's Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Nepal Singh said at least 200 people who were in close contact with the patient have been isolated and his complete history is being checked.

Before Uttar Pradesh, cases of Zika virus were detected in Kerala and Maharashtra

Based on the symptoms, the hospital management sent his sample to Pune for analysis. The report came on Saturday.

The Air Force Warrant Officer was suffering from fever for the past several days. Ten teams have been set up to check the spread of the virus.
