Kanpur: The shaher qazi refused to conduct a 'nikah' (marriage), saying that the DJ band and fireworks at the ceremony were against the 'Sharia' laws.

He agreed to perform the 'nikah' only after the groom's family apologised for their conduct and stopped the DJ and the fireworks. The high-voltage drama lasted for nearly two long hours.

According to reports, the marriage of the son of a businessman from the Talaq Mahal area was to be solemnised with a girl in the Jajmau area two days ago.

A band accompanied the marriage procession and there were fireworks too.

"When the procession reached the marriage venue, the DJ-band started playing and there were fireworks too.

This odd scene annoyed Shahar Qazi Maulana refusing to solemnise the Nikah ceremony.

No sooner than the matter reached the senior members of the family, they tried to solve intricacies.

They compelled the groom's family and guests, who were supposedly dancing to the tune of DJ music, to apologise, said a news source.

The Qazi clarified, "Band-DJ and fireworks were un-Islamic, besides being a sheer waste of money."

After they apologised, the Qazi agreed to conduct the nikah. He made it clear wherever such things happen,  he does not show his interest in conducting the simple of Nikah.
