India: Leopard still at large, forest department monitors its stride

Kanpur: The photo of a two-year-old male leopard that has been captured in the night vision camera installed at the VSSD College campus hints at the negligence of the forest department.

The wild animal weighing about 50 to 60 kgs roams in the night while the team members employed in catching the leopard rests reportedly during the night.

The time of capturing the wild animal's at 2.15 am and its movement was timed at about 2.45 am.It was seen going towards a school after coming out of the dense thickets.

Dr Nasir leading the catching campaign, said that two teams would be posted  with tranquiliser guns at the College campus and the nullah opposite the school 

The leopard was supposed to be retiring at the jungle area. It drinks fresh water. So a vigil has also been extended around Paani Ki Tanki area. A sprinkling of a female leopard's urine also continues.
