Kanpur: At his public contact campaign in the Cantt assembly constituency here, the Samajwadi Party candidate Hassan Rumi assured every voter to resolve issues related to the area.
Seeking elders' blessings he did not fail to exhort youths to lend their support in the assembly elections.
He covered several localities of the area during his recent campaign.
Many are believing that his success in the coming elections exists side-by-side with his wider popularity among the people.
He is a well-read candidate. He holds an LL.B.degree.
His supporters also guess if voters' turnout in the constituency remains considerably ample his chances are quite bright to gain a victory in the election this year.
They also point out that his immediate fight with the BJP candidate will remain rather tougher. However, he has his support base in the constituency as is being said.
What holds an edge in his favour is better popularity than Congress, Aam Admi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party candidates respectively.
Kanpur goes to the polls in the third phase on February 20, as has already been reported. The voting will be conducted at all the ten seats here.
As many as 34.89 lakh voters are registered here. A total of 3714 polling booths will be set up. Besides, twenty-one thousand officials will be engaged in polling duty.
