Kanpur: Kanpur- based mimicry artist Arpit Saini posted a picture that said 'Watch the live telecast of my death at 12 o clock' on Facebook on Tuesday.
The post triggered shock among followers and friends on Facebook, one of whom has reportedly alerted the police.
Finding his phone number from his friend, the police rushed to search Arpit Saini.
The Police Station House Officer Amit Bhadana kept him engaged him in a phone conversation till the police reached his residence.
On reaching Arpit's home, SHO saw a noose in his room. He tried his best to pacify the crying man. He told that Arpit was fine.
According to the police, Arpit Saini was not financially stable.
He had lost work due to the lockdown. Both of his parents were ailing, and due to all the stemming stress, he had tried to end his precious life.
Later, he posted a live video on Facebook with the police officials.
In the video, SHO Amit Bhadana could be heard saying, "You can come to me anytime for help, life is challenging and we should learn to deal with it in such a way."
On social media, people were all praising the police officials who had stepped in promptly.
Joint Commissioner Kanpur Police, Anand Prakash Tiwari, said, "Our police force has done a commendable job. This will have a good influence on people.
We appeal to the people that if you see any such incident on social media, please inform us immediately so that we can deliver help quickly."
