RAMALLAH, Mar 29 (NNN-WAFA) – King Abdullah II of Jordan, yesterday, met with Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, in the West Bank city of Ramallah, to discuss regional issues.
The Jordanian king, who headed a high-ranking delegation, was received by Abbas and a senior Palestinian delegation.
During their meeting, the king reiterated that Jordan is fully standing by the side of the Palestinian people, and supports their legitimate rights and their just cause on all levels.
He stressed that, it is necessary to stop all the unilateral Israeli actions, mainly in Jerusalem, “which impede the chances of achieving comprehensive and lasting peace.”
For his part, Abbas said that, the visit of the Jordanian king is essential at this crucial time, to discuss common issues and exchange views on regional issues.
The two officials also focused on the situation in the Palestinian territories and the necessity of restoring comprehensive calm, during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which will fall on Apr 2, for 30 days.
