In fact, Pramila Pandey had reached the municipal headquarters at Motijheel to cast her votes. Councilors, MLAs, and MPs of Kanpur city are voting at this booth.
Voting continues on 36 seats of the Legislative Council in UP from 8 am.
In this election, there will be a direct contest between BJP and Samajwadi Party as Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party have not fielded any candidate in the Legislative Council elections.
According to the information given by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of the state, 1,20,657 voters will decide the fate of a total of 95 candidates in these 27 seats spread over 58 districts of the state.
A total of 739 polling stations have been set up for voting in the elections.
