RAMALLAH, Apr 11 (NNN-WAFA) – A Palestinian woman was killed by Israeli soldiers yesterday, in the town of Husan, near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, the health ministry and eyewitnesses said.
Ghada Sbateen, 47, was critically injured, after she was shot with live bullets by Israeli soldiers, and died later at Beit Jala Hospital because of bleeding from a severe cut in her thigh’s artery, the Palestinian health ministry said.
Eyewitnesses said, Sbateen, a widow with six children, fell on the ground, after being shot by Israeli soldiers, in the street in Husan, and kept bleeding before she was taken to hospital.
Meanwhile, Israeli media outlets reported that, Israeli soldiers opened fire at a Palestinian woman, who ran towards them, trying to carry out a stabbing attack. No injuries were reported among the soldiers, according to the reports.
Palestinian social media users, published a video clip of a woman wearing a scarf and a long black dress, who was lying on the road, while bleeding and was surrounded by Israeli soldiers.
Tension between Israelis and Palestinians has been flaring over the past couple of weeks and during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, mainly in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
