Russia’s COVID-19 case tally grows by 8,729 over day - crisis center

MOSCOW, April 23. /TASS/: Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 8,729 over the past day to 18,128,691, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Saturday.

In relative terms, the figure reached 0.05%.

As many as 2,682 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, 0.8% fewer than in the previous day. The number of hospitalized patients declined in 44 regions, while in 35 other regions the figure increased. A day earlier, 2,660 people were rushed to hospitals.

Moscow’s COVID-19 cases increased by 602 over the past day against 644 a day earlier, reaching 2,756,837, according to the anti-coronavirus crisis center. St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 cases increased by 603 over the past day against 608 a day earlier, reaching 1,515,775.

COVID-19 recoveries

Russia’s COVID-19 recoveries rose by 13,030 over the past day, reaching 17,464,120, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters.

The share of patients discharged from hospitals has risen to 96.3% of the total number of those infected.

A day earlier 13,480 patients recovered.

COVID-19 death toll

Russia’s COVID-19 death toll increased by 171 over the past day to 374,734, the anti-coronavirus crisis center said.

The average conditional mortality rate remained at 2.07%, according to the crisis center.
