SIMFEROPOL, November 11. /TASS/: Deputy Governor of the Kherson Region Kirill Stremousov was buried on Friday in the central alley of Abdal cemetery in Simferopol, a TASS correspondent reported.
The ceremony was held at the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in the Crimean capital of Simferopol. Family and friends, as well as representatives of government and the public, totaling in 200 people, came to bid farewell. The coffin was opened during the funeral.
Stremousov died in a car crash in the Kherson Region on November 9. In 2018-2019, he was the chairman of the Kherson regional branch of the Ukrainian Socialist Party, which in 2022 became one of the so-called pro-Russian parties whose activities are banned in Ukraine. In October 2020, Stremousov ran for Kherson’s city mayor as an independent candidate. In 2021, he joined the Derzhava party (its activities were banned in Ukraine in 2022). Russian troops took control of the Kherson Region in 2022 during Moscow’s special military operation. In April 2022, Stremousov took the position of deputy head of the regional military-civilian administration. He obtained a Russian passport in September 2022.
