India: Probe team formed to examine 13 complaints against MLA in Kanpur

Kanpur: Police have constituted a team under ASP to examine the 13 complaints filed against Samajwadi Party MLA Solanki from the Sisamau area here.

He is reportedly in jail for allegedly harassing and setting a woman's house on fire in a bid to allegedly capture her house located in the city's posh area.

As many as 13 complaints, including that criminal intimidation, money dispute, and land grabbing, were filed against the MLA.

Kanpur Police record hints that there are 11 cases against Solanki and the investigation in four cases is pending in the remaining seven cases.

A closure report has been filed in four cases and a charge sheet in three other cases.

The police team would scrutinize all seven cases, and based on merit and demerit, a decision will be taken, said ACP (Kanpur) Anand Prakash Tiwari.

On November 8, this year, a woman complained to the police, alleging that Irfan and Rizwan set fire to her house when they were not in the town in a bid to capture her house.
