India: Shoes being made from Khadi & mushrooms in Kanpur

Kanpur: Shoes are being made from khadi and mushrooms for the first time here. These are also being exported.

Chairman of AFPL Global Private Limited, Rajeev Kumar Jalan in a program organized at VSSD College apprised of this unique concept to the UP CM here.

RK Jalan, chairman of the company and national vice-president of the Leather Export Council, said that during the Covid period, they first started making shoes from Khadi products.

By this technique shoe is made using jute sole and rubber. Stitching is done with cotton threads. It is completely eco-friendly.

These shoes last for four to five years. Shoes worth 15-18 crores have also been exported to America. He told that leather is made from mushrooms in Vietnam.

Mushroom shoes have been made in the city by importing it. He informed that the cost of these products is at par with other leather products.
