Russia records 4,789 daily COVID cases, 43 deaths — crisis center

MOSCOW, January 15. /TASS/: Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 4,789 over the past day to 21,856,613, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Sunday.

A day earlier, 5,102 daily cases were recorded.

As many as 489 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, down 39.9% from a day earlier. The number of hospitalized patients decreased in 59 regions, while in ten regions the figure increased. The situation remained unchanged in 16 regions. A day earlier, 813 people were rushed to hospitals.

Moscow’s COVID-19 cases surged by 1,376 over the past day versus 1,585 cases a day earlier, reaching 3,317,982 according to the anti-coronavirus crisis center. St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 cases increased by 554 over the past day versus 497 a day earlier, reaching 1,833,943.

COVID-19 recoveries

Russia’s COVID-19 recoveries rose by 3,208 over the past day, reaching 21,274,640, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday.

A day earlier some 3,887 patients recovered.

COVID-19 death toll

Russia’s COVID-19 death toll rose by 43 over the past day, reaching 394,398, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday.

A day earlier 46 COVID-19 deaths were registered.
