Indian Polls: Convassing comes to an end in Kanpur today

Kanpur: Saturday becomes the last day for canvassing in Kanpur and Akbarpur Lok Sabha constituencies. After 5 pm it will be completely ended and if any political party is found infringing the code of conduct a report will be filed against the person or party concerned.

Strict vigil on the part of the govrnment agencies like video surveillance team, flying squad team and static surveillance team will be kept over the political parties on the concluding day.

After Friday the candidates have offered their full and final enthusiasm for the winning touch on the day. They have spent huge amounts of money in the last three days of convassing. Even political parties used costly LED vehicles for wide-scale convassing.

The police personnel have marched at  different sensitive routes in the city. As many as 7 inhabitated areas were marked sensitive. A total of 25537 licensed arms have been deposited at the maal khana. The ADM(city) Vivek Srivastava said as many as 40 criminals were deported under the goonda act.

In both the constituencies the number of candidates remain 14. The district administration has made every arrangement for voting on April 29.

However, there are deep anguish among the residents over omission of their names from the Voter's list. Those whose names were not included in the list have also been cursing the booth level officials for their indifferent attitude.

Despite depositing the form-6 with complete proof, the name has not been considered for inclusion. The BLOs seldom visit houses for verification. The lady BLO entrusted with this work in Jajmau never takes pain to come.  She only knows dialling the mobile phone. Even she did not bring the voter's slip. She was only busy in making calls to respective voters.

Whatever will now be done is after the elections. But the genuine residents are lacking opportunity to vote at this episode of the parliamentary polls.
