India: Six Naxal terrorists held in Chhattisgarh

Dantewada, Apr 29 (PTI) Six naxals, including a woman, were arrested Monday from two places in Chhattigsarh's Dantewada district, police said.

Of them, three ultras who were allegedly involved in the October 2018 Nilawaya attack in which three policemen and a Doordarshan cameraman were killed in Dantewada, were apprehended from Nilawaya area under Aranpur police station limits, said Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava.

They are identified as Hunga Korram (21) and Kishor Madvi (19), both active as janmilitia platoon members, and the woman as Jogi Korram (20). She is a member of CNM (Chetna Natya Mandali), a cultural outfit of Maoists, he said.

Korram and Madvi were carrying a reward of Rs one lakh each on their heads, he added.

"The trio were part of the Maoist squad that had attacked the police personnel escorting a three-member team of the national broadcaster Doordarshan near Nilawaya village on October 30 last year ahead of Assembly election in the state," Pallava said.

In another incident, Sukhdev Veko (30), Fagnu Atami (21) and Motu Kiske (22) were nabbed from Geedam weekly market, he said, adding that the trio were involved in targetting police personnel on duty.

Veko, who was active as a member of the Naxal platoon number 16, carried a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head while Atami, a Janmilita Commander, Rs 1 lakh on his head, he added.
