Majority of Americans disapprove of Israel military actions in Gaza, reveals poll

28 March 2024; MEMO: The majority of Americans disapprove of Israel’s military actions in the Gaza Strip, according to a recent Gallup survey, published yesterday.

The poll found that 55 per cent of US adults disapprove of the Israeli government’s actions in Gaza, while only 36 per cent approve. This marks a significant shift from November, when 50 per cent approved of Israel’s actions in Gaza, while 45 per cent disapproved.

US says UN ceasefire resolution not binding on Israel

27 March 2024; MEMO: The UN resolution passed on Monday and which calls for a temporary ceasefire in Gaza is not binding on Israel, the US has claimed.

All UN Security Council resolutions are binding, however White House National Security Council, John Kirby, said: “It’s a non-binding resolution, so there’s no impact at all on Israel’s ability to continue to go after Hamas.”

Americans do not want to be 'complicit in the slaughter' of Palestinian children: Senator

Lebanon's Hezbollah launches dozens of rockets after Israel strikes

27 March 2024; MEMO: Lebanon’s Hezbollah said it launched dozens of rockets at Kiryat Shmona, an Israeli town over the border, today in response to deadly Israeli strikes on the village of Hebbariyeh in southern Lebanon a day earlier, Reuters reports.

Israeli emergency services said a rocket strike today killed a factory worker in Kiryat Shmona following warning signs in the area.

Ceasefire in Gaza must be 'substantive' to end 'darkest chapters' of humanity; UNICEF

28 March 2024; MEMO: A ceasefire in the Gaza Strip must be “substantive, not symbolic” to end the “darkest chapters” of humanity, a UNICEF official said on Tuesday.

“Gaza has shattered humanity’s records for its darkest chapters. Humanity must now urgently write a different chapter,” UNICEF spokesman James Elder said at a UN press briefing in Geneva.
