Over 5,000 servicemen will take part in 2019 International Army Games

MOSCOW, July 16. /TASS/: Over 5,000 servicemen from 200 teams will take part in the 2019 International Army Games (ARMI-2019), the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

"The 2019 Army Games will include 32 competitions on the territory of 10 countries (Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Iran, India, China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Uzbekistan). Over 5,000 servicemen from over 200 teams will take part in the games," the defense ministry said.

Mohd. Anas smashes own national record in Czech Republic

New Delhi, Jul 13 (PTI) Mohammad Anas bettered his own national record in men's 400m race while winning gold with an effort of 45.21 seconds at the Kladno Memorial Athletics Meet at Kladno, Czech Republic on Saturday.

The 24-year-old Anas won an easy race as he finished nearly one second ahead of silver winner Omelko Rafal (46.19) of Poland.

Anas' earlier national record time stood at 45.24 seconds which he recorded last year.

Tunisia win on penalties to end 54-year dominance by Ghana

9 July 2019; AFP: Tunisia defeated Ghana 5-4 on penalties Monday with Ferjani Sassi converting the decisive spot-kick to end a 54-year Africa Cup of Nations losing streak against the Black Stars.

After a 1-1 draw following extra time in Ismailia, Tunisia scored from all five penalties while Ghana substitute Caleb Ekusan had his attempt saved by Farouk Ben Mustapha, who came off the bench especially for the shootout.

Anti-India banner flies above Headingley stadium during India-Sri Lanka match

Leeds, July 6; GANASHAKTI:  In yet another incident that has political overtone, unnamed aircrafts flew over the Headingley stadium with anti-India banners during the World Cup match between India and Sri Lanka, here Saturday.

Minutes after the match began, an aircraft carrying the banner 'Justice for Kashmir' flew above the ground.

After a half an hour, a similar looking aircraft flew over the stadium with a different banner - 'India Stop Genocide, Free Kashmir'.

Shaheen Afridi got wickets of Gulbadin Naib, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Najibullah Zardan and Rashid Khan to finish with bowling figures of 4/47 in World Cup match against Afghanistan at Headingley on Saturday, a private news channel reported.

Hamza wins U-15 title of Asian Junior Individual Squash C’ship

ISLAMABAD, Jun 30 (APP): Pakistan’s Muhammad Hamza Khan won under 15 title of Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship 2019 at Macau on Sunday.

According to information received here, Hamza, who lost the first set to Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah Han Wen, came back strongly to win next three sets 11-7, 12-10 and 11-7 to annex the summit title in 48 minutes battle.
