Russia has registered 33,548 new confirmed COVID-19 infections over the past 24 hours

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/: Russia has registered 33,548 new confirmed COVID-19 infections over the past 24 hours, with the total number of infections reaching 9,570,373 cases, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday.

According to the crisis center, the relative increase of new infections is at the level of 0.35%.

In the past 24-hour period, 2,072 new cases were uncovered in St. Petersburg, 2,046 - in the Moscow Region, 974 - in the Samara Region, 754 - in the Voronezh Region, and 719 - in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/: The omicron variant of the novel coronavirus has not been registered in Russia at present, Head of the Scientific Group for the Development of New Methods for Diagnosing Human Diseases at the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Kamil Khafizov, reported on Sunday.

"As of Sunday, the Omicron variant has not been detected. At the same time, intensive work has been underway to sequence the coronavirus genome, including from patients who have recently visited foreign countries."

33,946 new Covid cases registered in Russia in 24 hours - statistics

MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/: In the past 24 hours, 33,946 new Covid cases were registered in Russia, bringing the total case count to 9,536 825, the federal coronavirus prevention anti-crisis center reported Saturday.

The relative case growth is 0.36%.

In particular, 1,879 cases were registered in St. Petersburg, 1,867 - in the Moscow Region, 1,056 - in the Samara Region, 759 - in the Voronezh Region, and 722-in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

A total of 1,031,616 people continue receiving medical treatment in Russia.

Armenia, Azerbaijan agree to ease tension under Putin’s watch

MOSCOW, Nov 27 (NNN-AGENCIES) — The leaders of arch foes Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to ease tensions left over after their war over Nagorno-Karabakh last year under the mediation of Russia’s Vladimir Putin on Friday.

Both Armenia’s Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijan’s Ilham Aliyev hailed talks held with Putin in the Black Sea resort of Sochi as positive.

Putin announced that the pair had agreed to begin the process of demarcating their borders, re-building transport links in the region, as well as moving forward on “humanitarian issues.”

U.S., NATO and Ukrainian officials have raised the alarm in recent weeks over what they say are unusual Russian troop movements near the border with Ukraine, suggesting that Moscow may be poised to launch an attack.

Russia has repeatedly said it is free to move its troops on its own territory and that such movements should not be a cause for concern.

Russia names 51 people presumed dead in coal mine accident

MOSCOW (AP) — Russian authorities on Friday released the names of 51 people presumed dead after a devastating methane explosion in a coal mine in Siberia, believed to be the deadliest since 2010.

The list with names of 46 miners and five rescuers was published online by the government of the Kemerovo region in southwestern Siberia, where the mine is located. Authorities had initially reported 52 possible fatalities, but search teams on Friday found a survivor in what officials described as a “miracle.”

New Delhi, Nov 26 (PTI) Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India for summit talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 6, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Friday.

Both the countries have a mechanism under which India's prime minister and the Russian president hold a summit meeting annually to review the entire gamut of ties.
