Armenia says 15 of its soldiers died in border clashes with Azerbaijan -IFX

MOSCOW, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Armenia's parliament said on Tuesday that 15 Armenian soldiers had died in clashes on the country's border with Azerbaijan, the Interfax news agency quoted it as saying.

Earlier on Tuesday, Armenia asked Russia to help defend its territorial sovereignty against Azerbaijan and said a heavy border clash between Azeri and Armenian forces was underway.

Russia rejects accusations of endangering ISS astronauts

MOSCOW (AP) — Russian officials on Tuesday rejected accusations that they endangered astronauts aboard the International Space Station by conducting a weapons test that created more than 1,500 pieces of space junk.

U.S. officials on Monday accused Russia of destroying an old satellite with a missile in what they called a reckless and irresponsible strike. The debris could do major damage to the space station as it is orbiting at 17,500 mph (28,000 kph).

Astronauts now face four times greater risk than normal, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson told The Associated Press.

Russia: Space junk endangering ISS moved away from its orbit — Roscosmos

MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/: The orbit of the space debris that earlier approached the International Space Station has moved away from the ISS orbit, the press service of Roscosmos told TASS on Monday.

"The orbit of the object due to which the crew had to move to the spaceship as per routine procedure, has moved away from the orbit of the ISS, the station is in the green zone," the state corporation said. The ISS crew now continue work on the flight program.

Armenian PM accuses Azeri forces of breaching border, sacks defence minister

MOSCOW, Nov 15 (Reuters) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accused Azerbaijan's troops on Monday of violating the border between the two countries and sacked his defence minister, the Interfax news agency reported.

Another Russian news agency, RIA, quoted Armenia's Security Council as saying the incident took place on Sunday but the Azeri troops had since left.

Interfax quoted an Azeri foreign ministry spokesperson as saying Azeri forces were operating on the country's own sovereign territory and accusing Armenia of "provocations".

Russia starts missile supplies to India despite U.S. sanctions risk

MOSCOW, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Russia has started supplying India with S-400 air defence missile systems, Russian news agencies reported on Sunday citing Dmitry Shugayev, the head of the Russian military cooperation agency.

The supplies put India at risk of sanctions from the United States under a 2017 U.S. law aimed at deterring countries from buying Russian military hardware.

"The first supplies have already been started," Interfax cited Shugayev as saying on Sunday at an aerospace trade show in Dubai.
