PIA airlifts another 12 million doses of Sinovac vaccines from China to Pakistan

BEIJING, Aug 29 (APP): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) special flights have airlifted fresh batch of 12 million doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines from Beijing Capital International Airport to Islamabad.

“PIA special flights PK-6852, PK-6853, PK-6854 and PK-6856 transported 12 million doses of Sinovac vaccine procured from China for vaccination of people under government’s ongoing prevention and control drive against Covid-19 pandemic,” Qadir Bux Sangi, PIA Country Manager for China told APP here on Sunday.

Remains of more Chinese martyrs in Korean War to be returned

BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- The remains of more Chinese soldiers killed in the 1950-53 Korean War will be returned to China from the Republic of Korea (ROK) in September, said China's Ministry of Veterans Affairs on Sunday.

It will be the eighth batch of martyrs' remains returned since 2014, following a handover agreement signed by the two countries.

Ambassador Haque visits China-Pakistan Iron Brothers Young Artists Exhibition in Beijing

BEIJING, Aug 28 (APP): Pakistan Ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque visited China-Pakistan Iron Brothers Young Artists Exhibition held at Beijing Auto Museum and highly appreciated display of paintings done by Chinese and Pakistani children.

The exhibition, a part of 70th anniversary celebrations of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, was intended to promote interaction and culture exchanges between the youth of the two countries.

Chinese expert sees great potential in Pakistan service trade

BEIJING, Aug 28 (APP):” Pakistan is a country with a population of more than 200 million and has a huge consumer market. Population and resources are huge advantages for the development of service trade, and their labor force is very young,” said Zhang Wei, chief expert of China Association of Trade in Services.

During the FY2020-2021, Pakistan’s service exports increased by 9.19% to US$ 5.937 billion, and the service trade deficit fell sharply by 43%. Pakistan service trade shows great potential. For its development, Zhang Wei shared his advice.

China strongly condemns Kabul airport attack

BEIJING, Aug 27 (APP): China on Friday expressed shock and strongly condemned explosions near the Kabul airport which caused massive casualties.

“China is shocked by the explosions near the Kabul airport which caused massive casualties. We also strongly condemn that,” Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Zhao Lijian said during his regular briefing held here.

He said that this incident showed that the security situation in Afghanistan remains complicated and severe.

China urges Japan not to mislead the next generation

BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- China firmly opposes Japan unveiling a defense white paper for children, and has lodged solemn representations with Japan, urging Japan not to mislead the next generation, a foreign ministry spokesperson said on Friday.

Japan's defense ministry on Aug. 16 released a 30-page white paper for elementary and junior high school students on its website, which covers China's military development, the Diaoyu Islands and the South China Sea issues.

Organiser of Hong Kong Tiananmen anniversary rally investigated by national security police

HONG KONG, Aug 26 (Reuters) - The pro-democracy group that organises Hong Kong's annual June 4 rally to commemorate those who died in the bloody Tiananmen Square crackdown in 1989 is being investigated by national security police on suspicion of collusion with foreign forces.

Police sent a letter to the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements in China requesting information about its membership, finances and activities by Sept. 7, according to a copy the group sent to reporters.

China: U.S. should invite WHO to probe coronavirus origins at Fort Detrick, UNC

BEIJING, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson on Wednesday urged the United States to stop political manipulation on the issue of coronavirus origins tracing, saying the United States should invite WHO experts to launch a probe into Fort Detrick and the University of North Carolina (UNC) to find the source of the virus if it is bent on insisting the lab-leak theory.
