China’s virus pandemic epicenter Wuhan ends 76-day lockdown

WUHAN, China (AP) — After 11 weeks of lockdown, people went outdoors and by the thousands boarded the first trains and planes leaving Wuhan as the last restrictions on movement were lifted Wednesday in the Chinese city where the coronavirus pandemic began.

Wuhan’s unprecedented lockdown was a model for countries trying to stop the coronavirus. With the restrictions ending, Hubei’s provincial capital begins another experiment: resuming business and ordinary life while preventing more illnesses.

China Reports No COVID-19 Deaths For First Time

BEIJING, Apr 7 (NNN-AGENCIES) – No COVID-19 deaths were reported in China today, Tuesday (Apr 7), the first time since it started publishing daily figures in Jan, the National Health Commission said.

Cases in mainland China have been dwindling since Mar, but the country faces a second wave of infections brought in from overseas.

It reported 32 new cases on Monday, down from 39 cases a day earlier.

Chinese pharmaceutical company donates traditional medicines to assist Pakistan combat Covid-19

BEIJING, Apr 6 (APP): A Chinese pharmaceutical company has donated Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM) to a hospital in Karachi to help Pakistan’s health authorities in their efforts to prevent and control of Covid-19 pandemic.

Hunan Anbang Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd (Anbang) has delivered 600 boxes of traditional Chinese medicine to a mobile cabin hospital in Karachi to combat the Covid-19, according to a report of China Economic Net (CEN).

China’s Medical Supplies Exports Top 10 Billion Yuan

BEIJING, Apr 6 (NNN-XINHUA) – China actively joined hands with the rest of the world to stem the COVID-19 disease, with the exports of medical supplies registering 10.2 billion yuan (about 1.43 billion U.S. dollars).

The items of medical supplies include 3.86 billion face masks, 37.52 million protective suits, 2.41 million infrared thermometers, as well as, ventilators, testing kits and goggles, Jin Hai, an official with the General Administration of Customs, told a news briefing, Sunday.

China sees rises in new coronavirus cases, asymptomatic patients

BEIJING (Reuters) - Mainland China reported 39 new coronavirus cases as of Sunday, up from 30 a day earlier, and the number of asymptomatic cases also surged, as Beijing continued to struggle to extinguish the outbreak despite drastic containment efforts.

The National Health Commission said in a statement on Monday that 78 new asymptomatic cases had been identified as of the end of the day on Sunday, compared with 47 the day before.

China reports 30 new coronavirus cases; nine districts in Wuhan classified as low-risk'

Beijing, Apr 5 (PTI) China has reported 30 new cases of the novel coronavirus, including five locally transmitted infections, even as nine of the 13 administrative districts of virus-hit Wuhan city were declared low-risk areas' signifying a gradual return to normalcy, officials said on Sunday.

China's National Health Commission (NHC) in its daily report said other than the 30 new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in the mainland on Saturday, 47 new asymptomatic cases were also reported.

BEIJING, Apr 3 (APP): While welcoming dialogue between the Afghan government and Taliban on release of prisoners, a Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Friday hoped that all important items in the US-Taliban peace agreement could be steadily implemented.

“China welcomes the meaningful and fruitful dialogues between the Afghan government and the Taliban,” Hua Chunying said while responding to a question about a discussion between technical teams from the Afghan government and Taliban on release of prisoners in Kabul.

China to observe April 4 as mourning day for coronavirus victims

Beijing, Apr 3 (PTI) China will observe a national day of mourning on Saturday for martyrs, including the "whistleblower" doctor Li Wenliang, who sacrificed their lives in the fight against the coronavirus outbreak and the over 3,300 people who died of the COVID-19 in the country.

During the commemoration, national flags will fly at half-mast across the country and in all Chinese embassies and consulates abroad, and public recreational activities will be suspended across the country, official media reported on Friday.
