Roscosmos plans to organize tourist space missions via Yuri Gagarin’s route

MOSCOW, January 10. /TASS/. The Roscosmos state corporation is studying the possibility of organizing tourist missions via Yuri Gagarin’s route and is conducting negotiations with potential partners, Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin said in an interview with RBC.

Space tourism should not necessarily be connected with the International Space Station (ISS), he said. "Let’s say, orbital flights on Yuri Gagarin’s route is a good issue for tourists. We already started negotiations with potential partners, who are interested in this option," Rogozin reported.

Russia accuses Japan of provoking tensions over peace treaty issue

MOSCOW, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday slammed the recent statements of Japan on the peace treaty with Russia as an attempt to stir up tensions around four disputed Pacific islands.

The ministry said it had summoned Japanese Ambassador Toyohisa Kozuki and told him it had drew attention to Tokyo's recent remarks, in particular, those about the need to prepare the inhabitants for the transfer of the islands to Japan and about dropping a demand for compensation from Russia.

EU imports of U.S. soybeans up 112 percent

BRUSSELS, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- During the July-December 2018 market year, European imports of U.S. soybeans increased by 112 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.

According to information released by the European Commission on Monday, the U.S. remains Europe's number one soybean supplier, with a share of 75 percent of EU imports.

Conversely, Europe remains by far the top destination of U.S. soybean exports (28 percent), followed by Argentina (10 percent) and Mexico (9 percent).

Call for no-deal Brexit to be ruled out after UK PM suffers parliament defeat

The man was arrested in Hesse on Tuesday in preliminary proceedings on suspicion of spying and the unauthorized disclosure of personal data.

Russia demands clarification after NASA rescinds invitation to Roscosmos head

MOSCOW, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Russian state space corporation Roscosmos said Sunday it is awaiting clarification from the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) after it has reportedly rescinded an invitation to Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin.

The Washington Post reported on Saturday that NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine had said in an interview that he has rescinded Rogozin's invitation to visit the United States amid mounting criticism from Capitol Hill.
