Delhi; 19 January 2020 (UMM):  National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested 11 Indian Navy soldiers caught spying for Pakistan’s ISI. According to Nav Bharat Times, these soldiers were honey trapped by the ISI and ended up transferring Indian Navy's secret information.

Two others, not part of Indian Navy, were also nabbed.

New Delhi, Feb 17 (PTI) Nirbhaya's parents on Monday expressed hope that the four convicts in their daughter's rape-and-murder case would finally be hanged on March 3, the latest execution date fixed by a court after two earlier death warrants were stayed.

"We hope the order (death warrant) is finally executed," her mother said, just after a Delhi court issued fresh death warrants against the four convicts setting up their execution on March 3 at 6 am.

New Delhi, Feb 17 (PTI) An IAF officer, undertaking a military course at a Japanese institute, has been detained by police in Tokyo following a complaint of misconduct by a woman, official sources said.

The Wing Commander was detained by police in Tokyo on February 6 and his family has approached a local court to secure his release, they said.

New Delhi, Feb 18 (PTI) The CPI(M) on Tuesday slammed the government over FIRs being registered against social media users in Jammu and Kashmir and said that while it was "touting normalcy" in the union territory, it was charging people who used the Internet which was their basic right.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday registered a case against various people for defying government orders on use of social media.

New Delhi, Feb 18 (PTI) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is holding a daylong meeting with 70 columnists from across India on Tuesday in an effort to clear misconceptions about the organisation, sources said.

RSS chief Bhagwat, who last year met representatives of international media organisations posted in India, is expected to deliver a keynote address that will be followed by a free-flowing conversation, they said.

New Delhi, Feb 17 (PTI) Shares of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation lost over 3 per cent on Monday after the company posted halving of its December quarter net profit.

On the BSE, the stock slumped 3.15 per cent to Rs 100. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), it fell 3.19 per cent to Rs 100.

New Delhi, Feb 17 (PTI) Moody's Investors Service on Monday slashed India's growth forecast to 5.4 per cent for 2020 from 6.6 per cent projected earlier on slower than expected economic recovery.

In its update on Global Macro Outlook, Moody's said India's economy has decelerated rapidly over the last two years and expects economic recovery to begin in the current quarter.

Beijing, Feb 17 (PTI) India will send a consignment of medical supplies on a relief flight to Wuhan city later this week to support China in combating the deadly coronavirus outbreak in the country, Indian Embassy in China said on Monday.

The death toll from COVID-19 outbreak in China has climbed to 1,770 after 105 more people died, mostly in the worst-hit Hubei province, officials said on Monday.

Jaipur, Feb 16 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot here on Sunday accused the BJP-led Union government of taking arbitrary decisions, leading to an environment of suspicion in the country.

He said the intention of those at the helm at the Centre was not clear due to which it was not known where the country was headed to.

Gehlot said this while addressing a dharna held in the backdrop of an apex court ruling that states are not bound to provide reservation in appointments or promotions.

New Delhi, Feb 17 (PTI) The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Centre to grant permanent commission to all women officers in the Army within three months and said there will not be any absolute bar on giving them command postings.

A bench headed by Justice D Y Chandrachud rejected the Centre's argument of physiological limitations and social norms for denying them permanent commission and command postings, saying it is disturbing and against the concept of equality.
