Turkey issues warrant for 18 suspects over financing IS

ANKARA, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Turkey on Friday has issued an arrest warrant for 18 Turkish nationals for allegedly providing financial aid to the Islamic State (IS) group, the semi-official Anadolu Agency reported.

The police teams carried out simultaneous raids in 12 provinces of Turkey as part of a capital Ankara-based operation and detained 12 suspects.

The suspects were allegedly providing assistance to the IS by collecting cash aid through their bank accounts.

Saudi crown prince pays 1st visit to Turkey since death of Khashoggi

ANKARA, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud on Wednesday arrived in Ankara, Turkey's capital, to start his first visit to Turkey since the death of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan greeted the crown prince with a grand welcoming ceremony, which was followed by a private meeting between the two leaders.

Turkey is the third stop of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's regional tour, which also brought him to Egypt and Jordan.

Saudi Crown Prince arrives in Turkiye on official visit

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to receive the Crown Prince with an official ceremony at the presidential complex.

Ahead of an official dinner, the two leaders will hold one-on-one and inter-delegation meetings.

Erdogan earlier said they would discuss ways to take bilateral relations to a much higher level during the Prince's official visit.

Turkish president slams developed nations for lack of responsibility for refugee crisis

ISTANBUL, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday criticized developed nations for lack of responsibility for the global refugee crisis.

"The real burden of the issue of migration and refugees is felt by countries like ours that are neighbors of the crisis regions, and not the developed countries who cry out loud," Erdogan said in a video address to the Global Parliamentary Conference on Migration that opened in Istanbul on the annual World Refugee Day.

Granting NATO membership to Sweden, Finland to require new summit, says Turkish expert

ANKARA, June 20. /TASS/: Turkey won’t greenlight Sweden and Finland’s bid to join NATO at the bloc’s Madrid summit set for late June, the head of the Ankara-based Foreign Policy Institute told TASS on Monday.

"Turkey cannot be expected to give the greenlight at the Madrid summit. Sooner or later, Sweden and Finland will join NATO. It is highly unlikely to happen this year and may require the alliance to hold another summit," Huseyin Bagci pointed out.

Turkish, Israeli presidents vow to boost bilateral cooperation

ISTANBUL, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Israeli counterpart Isaac Herzog on Sunday pledged to boost cooperation between the two countries.

During a phone call, Erdogan and Herzog discussed Turkish-Israeli relations and regional issues, and agreed that dialogue and cooperation would continue on the matters of mutual defense and the fight against terrorism, the Turkish Directorate of Communications said in a statement.

Herzog thanked the Turkish leader for Turkey's efforts to fight terrorism in the region, it added.

Turkey reiterates no more high-level strategic council meeting with Greece

ISTANBUL, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated on Friday that Turkey would no longer hold the High-Level Strategic Council meetings with Greece.

"Unless I come across an honest politician, I will no longer be meeting them, and we have terminated our high-level strategic council meetings, and we will not hold the meeting with Greece," Erdogan told reporters in Istanbul.

Turkey: Erdogan says Saudi Crown Prince to visit, as ties warm

According to the report, it will be the Crown Prince's first visit to Turkiye since the killing of Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi in the Kingdom's consulate in Istanbul.
