Uzbekistan Sent First Cargo Train To Europe Through New Route

TASHKENT, Dec 20 (NNN-XINHUA) – Uzbekistan sent its first container cargo train to Europe, via a new railway route called Middle Corridor, said a Uzbek railway company, yesterday.

The cargo train, loaded with copper concentrate and “consisted of 91 standard 20-foot containers, on 46 railway platforms” left the country on Dec 16, for the Bulgarian Burgas region, said the Uzbekistan Railway company.

Uzbekistan Announced Winners Of Int’l Bid To Build Three Solar Power Plants

TASHKENT, Dec 16 (NNN-XINHUA) – Energy companies from the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye and France, have won tenders to build and operate three solar power plants, with a total capacity of 500 megawatts (MW) in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Energy Ministry said, yesterday.

According to the results of the tender, Abu Dhabi-based Masdar was awarded to construct a 250 MW project in Bukhara region, with a proposal of 3,044 U.S. cents per kilowatt-hour of produced electricity, the ministry said.

Road accident kills 3, injures 38 in eastern Uzbekistan

TASHKENT, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and 38 others injured in a road accident involving a bus and a truck in the Andijan region in eastern Uzbekistan Saturday.

The collision took place between the two vehicles on the Tashkent-Andijan highway in the Andijan region at approximately 8:10 a.m. local time (0310 GMT), said the Uzbek Health Ministry and the regional traffic police.

In a heavy fog in the morning, the bus driver drove into the oncoming lane and collided with the truck, the police said.

Transit trade among SCO countries possible unless protectionism comes in the way: Official

Putin tells Europe: if you want gas then open Nord Stream 2

SAMARKAND, Uzbekistan, Sept 16 (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin on Friday denied Russia had anything to do with Europe's energy crisis, saying that if the European Union wanted more gas it should lift sanctions preventing the opening of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

Speaking to reporters after the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Uzbekistan, Putin blamed what he called "the green agenda" for the energy crisis, and insisted that Russia would fulfil its energy obligations.

Uzbek President announces plans to expand Shanghai Cooperation Organisation

Speaking at a meeting of the SCO leaders in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Mirziyoyev said a Memorandum about Iran's accession to the Organisation is set to be signed.
