Security cooperation agreement signed by Turkey and Palestinian Authority enters into force

05 June 2021; MEMO: Turkish newspaper Yeni Safak reported that Ankara has taken the first step to re-implement the Libyan model with the Palestinians regarding a security cooperation agreement signed by Turkey and the Palestinian Authority (PA) that recently entered into force.

India, Australia to expand cyber security cooperation

New Delhi, Jun 10 (PTI) India and Australia on Thursday agreed to broad-base cooperation in the spheres of the digital economy and cyber-enabled critical technologies, noting the need to strengthen the security of critical information infrastructure such as 5G telecom networks.

The two sides discussed a range of issues relating to emerging technologies in the cyber domain at the first meeting of the India-Australia Joint Working Group (JWG) on cyber security cooperation, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

India: PM Modi to attend outreach sessions of G7 summit

New Delhi, Jun 10 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate virtually in the outreach sessions of the G7 summit on June 12 and 13, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Thursday.

This is the second time Modi will participate in a G7 meeting. India was invited by France in its capacity as G7 presidency to the Biarritz summit in 2019 as a 'Goodwill Partner' and he participated in the sessions on 'Climate, Biodiversity and Oceans' and 'Digital Transformation'.

Palestine's debt jumps 26% in April to $3.7bn

9 June 2021; MEMO: The public debt amassed by the Palestinian Authority (PA) has jumped by 26 per cent to $3.7 billion due to a combination of factors including the economic slowdown and Israel's brutal military occupation.

The extent of the debt crises was revealed today after the Ministry of Finance issued the PA's budget. It showed that internal and external public debt reached $3.7 billion by the end of April. The public debt in the corresponding period of 2020, was $2.9 billion.

US: Iran nuclear talks to resume over the weekend

10 June 2021; MEMO: Negotiations between Iran and the world powers on how to revive the 2015 nuclear accord will resume this weekend, Reuters reported US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman as saying on Wednesday, adding that Iran's June 18 presidential election was a complicating factor.

"I know that the negotiation will start again over this coming weekend," Sherman said during a virtual event organized by the German Marshall Fund think tank.

US drops Trump order targeting TikTok, plans its own review

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House dropped Trump-era executive orders intended to ban the popular apps TikTok and WeChat and will conduct its own review aimed at identifying national security risks with software applications tied to China, officials said Wednesday.

A new executive order directs the Commerce Department to undertake what officials describe as an “evidence-based” analysis of transactions involving apps that are manufactured or supplied or controlled by China.

9th consignment of Russian COVID-19 vaccines delivered to Iran Embassy in Moscow

Moscow, June 9, IRNA – The 9th batch of Russian Corona vaccine, Sputnik V, including 100,000 doses, was delivered to the Iranian Embassy in Moscow on Wednesday and will be forwarded to Tehran on Thursday.

The vaccines will be sent to Tehran via the Iranian airline of Mahan on Thursday.

So far 900,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccines have been delivered to Iran.
