President of Mexico rejects US blockade against Cuba

MEXICO CITY, Nov 9 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, rejected the economic, commercial and financial blockade that the US government has applied to Cuba for more than half a century.

To a question from a journalist in his press conference at the National Palace about voting at the United Nations, where 187 countries once again condemned Washington’s aggressive measure against the island, the president reiterated the traditional policy of Mexico.

India: Allahabad Bank loss widens to Rs 2,103 cr in Q2 on higher bad loans

New Delhi, Nov 8 (PTI) Allahabad Bank on Friday reported widening of net loss to Rs 2,103.19 crore for the September quarter 2019-20 due to higher provision for bad loans.

The state-owned lender had registered a loss of Rs 1,816.19 crore during the year-ago period, according to a regulatory filing.

In the preceding June quarter, the bank clocked a profit of Rs 128 crore.

Sensex skids from record high as Moody's cuts India credit outlook

Mumbai, Nov 8 (PTI) Equity benchmark BSE Sensex tumbled 330 points on Friday as investors pressed the exit button after Moody's cut India's credit rating outlook citing growth concerns.

Mumbai, Nov 8 (PTI) The rupee on Friday plummeted by 31 paise to hit an over three-week low of 71.28 against the US dollar after Moody's Investors Services cut India's rating outlook to negative citing growth concerns.

Moody's has changed the outlook on the country's ratings to 'negative' from 'stable', saying there was increasing risks that economic growth will remain materially lower than the past.

Delhi govt demands more onions from Centre

New Delhi, Nov 7 (PTI) The Delhi government has demanded more onions from the Centre for distribution in the city, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday after a sudden rise in the vegetable's price.

The retail price of onions has risen by 45 per cent in the past week to Rs 80 per kg in the national capital. The rate stood at Rs 55 per kg on October 1, according to official data.
