U.S. withdrawal from nuclear deal to have repercussions for int'l security: Iranian official

VIENNA, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- U.S. withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear deal will have serious repercussions for the international and regional peace and security, Iranian Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi said in a statement to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) general conference on Monday.

"This ominous move is doomed to have serious repercussions for the international and regional peace and security," said Salehi, who is also the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.

Chinese military voices "strong indignation" over U.S. "sanctions"

BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- China's military has voiced its "strong indignation and resolute opposition" against recent "sanctions" by the U.S. on Chinese military authority and personnel, according to China's Ministry of National Defense.

Wu Qian, a spokesperson for the ministry, said Saturday that Chinese military has made solemn representations and protests to the U.S. side.

Pakistan renews offer for dialogue with India

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan; 20 Sep 2018; AA: Pakistan on Thursday renewed its offer for dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues.

According to the Foreign Ministry, Prime Minister Imran Khan sent a letter to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi seeking a resumption of talks between the two nuclear powers.

Khan responded to a letter written by Modi in late August to congratulate Khan on his election as premier of Pakistan.

Turkey’s domestic hybrid locomotive showcased in Berlin

19 Sep 2018; AA: Turkey’s new domestic hybrid locomotive was showcased on Wednesday at a leading international transport technology fair in German capital, a co-production company said.

New locomotive will save 40 percent on fuel with hybrid technology.

In a written statement, Turkish Locomotive and Engine Company Inc (TULOMSAS) said the locomotive was displayed at the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology (InnoTrans) in Berlin.

New hope for millions of Afghan refugees in Pakistan?

18 Sep 2018; DW: On Sunday, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan announced a plan to offer citizenship to Afghan and Bangladeshi refugees who were born in Pakistan.

Khan told local media that Pakistan would will give passports and IDs to Afghans whose children have been raised in Pakistan and who were born there.

"We will also give them citizenship," said Khan.

Russia plans to supply edible live frogs to China

MOSCOW, September 19. /TASS/. Russia plans to export live frogs to China for eating purposes, the Russian agriculture safety watchdog (Rosselkhoznadzor) said on Wednesday.

In line with China’s demands, the Russian agency has drafted a veterinary certificate for edible live frogs exported from Russia.

"Live frogs are recognized as safe for human consumption," the document says.

Japan wants to discuss Putin’s peace treaty proposal with Lavrov
