India: Anti-national powers backing farmers claims BJP MP

Ballia, Jan 17 (PTI) BJP MP Virendra Singh Mast here on Sunday said anti-national powers are backing the farmers protesting against the Centre's farm laws and their agitation does not represent the entire farming community of the country.

The Ballia MP also accused farmers of not having faith in the judiciary and the executive.

Israel OKs hundreds of settlement homes in last-minute push

HRW calls on Biden to stop arms sales to Saudi, UAE

Human Rights Watch (HRW) has called on the administration of President-elect Joe Biden on Wednesday to stop selling weapons to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in order to have a positive impact on the situation in Yemen.

The organisation stated in a report published on its website: "The parties to the armed conflict in Yemen have continued to violate the laws of war over the past year, including committing what appear to be new war crimes."

India: 9th round of Govt-farmer meeting ends inconclusive

New Delhi, Jan 15 (PTI) Protesting farmer unions stuck to their demand for a complete repeal of three contentious farm laws at their ninth round of talks with three central ministers while the government asked them to be more flexible in their approach and expressed willingness for necessary amendments, as the two sides decided to meet again on January 19.

Farmer leader Joginder Singh Ugrahan told reporters after the meeting that the unions urged the government to repeal the three laws, but the Centre was unwilling to do so.

India: Farmers from Kerala join protest against agri laws

Jaipur, Jan 16 (PTI) Around 400 farmers from Kerala have joined the ongoing agitation near the Rajasthan-Haryana border against three new farm laws.

A group of farmers from Kerala came to Alwar's Shahjahanpur on Friday to participate in the sit-in launched by Sanyukt Kisan Morcha against the Centre's farm laws, former CPI (M) MLA Amra Ram said.
