India: 166 Kashmiris among 203 separatists killed by Indian Sec Forces in Indian Administered Kashmir in 2020

Jammu, 29 Dec 2020: A total of 203 Kashmiri separatists, including 166 locals, were killed by Indian security forces in the Indian Administered Kashmir in the year in 2020, Indian official sources said. Apart from that 43 civilians were killed and 92 others injured by Indian security forces.

India: Muslim youth arrested for having interfaith relationship with a girl

Noida, Dec 29 (PTI) A youth who was in an interfaith relationship with a girl has been arrested in Greater Noida under the Uttar Pradesh's new anti-conversion law, police said on Tuesday, the second such case to be lodged in Gautam Buddh Nagar district.

The man, around 20, had got into a relationship with the girl, but allegedly did not reveal his real name and religion to her, according to Greater Noida Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Pandey.

India: Farmers protesting at Delhi borders firm in their demands as Centre, farm unions set to resume talks

New Delhi, Dec 30 (PTI) Thousands of farmers agitating against the three new central agriculture laws stayed put at their agitation venues near Delhi, which is going through a harsh spell of winter, unrelenting in their demand of withdrawal of the legislations.

On Wednesday, a cold wave swept Delhi as the minimum temperature dipped to 3.5 degrees Celsius. It is likely to get even colder on New Year's Eve, the India Meteorological Department predicted, as dry and icy winds barrelled through the plains.

India: SCBA expresses shock over search at Delhi lawyer's premises, assault of another in UP

New Delhi, Dec 28 (PTI) The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Monday expressed shock and deep concern on the arbitrary, illegal and brazen exercise of brute power by the police against lawyers, including the search conducted at the premises of an advocate representing some of the accused in the north-east Delhi riots cases.

The SCBA also condemned the assault on a lawyer in the Etah district, Uttar Pradesh, by the local police.

India: Interfaith marriage: HC quashes FIR, says adult woman has right to live as she wishes

Allahabad, Dec 28 (PTI) The Allahabad High Court has quashed an FIR lodged against a Muslim man over a marriage with a Hindu woman, ruling that she had a right to live her life on her own terms.

Upholding the interfaith marriage in a case from Uttar Pradesh's Etah district, a bench of Justice Pankaj Naqvi and Vivek Agarwal said the woman is an adult according to her high school certificate.

India: Farmer Protestors do yoga on highway

Noida (UP), Dec 28 (PTI) Farmers demonstrating against the Centre's new agri laws on Monday performed yoga on the Delhi-Noida Link Road at the Chilla border where they have been camping for 28 days now.

The road remained closed for Noida to Delhi movement but was open for commuters travelling from Delhi to Noida, according to a police official.

India: Karnataka cabinet okays anti-cow slaughter ordinance

Bengaluru, Dec 28 (PTI) The Karnataka cabinet on Monday decided to promulgate an ordinance to give effect to the contentious anti-cow slaughter bill that is yet to be approved by the legislative council.

Once it comes into effect, there will be a blanket prohibition of slaughter of cows in the state.

However, slaughter houses will continue to function and beef consumption will not be prohibited with respect to buffalo meat.

"The anti-cow slaughter law is not new. We have had it for decades.
