Russian aircraft delivering peacekeepers, armored vehicles to Armenia

MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/: Two An-124 transport aircraft delivered about 30 peacekeepers and armored vehicles from Ulyanovsk to Yerevan, the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters on Sunday

"Two An-124 Ruslan aircraft of the Russian military transport aviation brought armored vehicles and personnel of units of the 15th peacekeeping brigade to the Yerevan airport," the Ministry says.

Russia reports over 22,500 new coronavirus cases

MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/:  Russia’s coronavirus case tally grew by 22,572 in the past day to 1,925,825, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday. A day earlier, 22,702 COVID-19 cases were reported, a new high during the pandemic.

The lowest growth rates in the past day were recorded in Dagestan, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region (0.6%), the republics of Mariy El republic, Kalmykia, Tatarstan and the Chukotka Autonomous Region (0.7%).

Hospital Fire Kills 10 COVID-19 Patients In North-Eastern Romania

BUCHAREST, Nov 15 (NNN-AGENCIES) – Ten COVID-19 patients in serious condition were killed in a fire, which erupted late yesterday, in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Piatra Neamt County Hospital, in north-eastern Romania, confirmed Health Minister, Nelu Tataru.

“Eight patients died as a result of the fire, and the other two later in the Emergency Department, due to respiratory failure,” explained the minister, who visited the hospital in Piatra Neamt, about 350 km from the capital, Bucharest, soon after the incident.

UK and EU making some progress on post-Brexit trade deal, UK negotiator says

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain and the European Union have made some progress in their negotiations for a post-Brexit trade deal but might not succeed in getting an agreement, Britain’s top Brexit negotiator said as he headed into further talks on Sunday.

“There has been some progress in a positive direction in recent days,” David Frost said on Twitter.

“We also now largely have common draft treaty texts, though significant elements are of course not yet agreed. We will work to build on these and get an overall agreement if we can. But we may not succeed.”

Moldova's pro-Moscow president faces pro-EU rival in election run-off

CHISINAU (Reuters) - Moldovan voters will decide on Sunday whether to give pro-Moscow President Igor Dodon four more years in office or hand power to Maia Sandu, a former prime minister who favours closer ties with the European Union.

The central election commission said voting began in more than 2,000 polling stations in the country and abroad.

Belarus police arrest dozens in street protests

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Police in Belarus on Sunday arrested dozens of people in Minsk demonstrating against Alexander Lukashenko, leader of the ex-Soviet country, a witness said and several media outlets reported.

The witness said police used rubber bullets against the protesters. Interfax news agency said police had used tear gas to disperse the crowd near the Pushkinskaya metro station.

Mobile internet has been also down across the city, according to the witness.

Tech groups' services could face bans if they breach rules - EU industry chief

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Technology companies’ services could be banned from the European market if they do not heed EU regulation, Europe’s industry chief Thierry Breton told German weekly Welt am Sonntag, as the European Commission finalises rules on internet companies.

Breton will announce new draft rules known as the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act together with European Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager on Dec. 2.

UK records another 26,860 coronavirus cases with 462 deaths

LONDON, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Another 26,860 people in Britain have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 1,344,356, according to official figures released Saturday.

The coronavirus-related deaths in Britain rose by 462 to 51,766, the data showed.

Britain is the first European nation to record more than 50,000 coronavirus deaths. It is the fifth country in the world to hit the tragic milestone, following the United States, Brazil, India and Mexico.

Belarus: Protest organizers had plans for asking for foreign military support, Lukashenko says
