01 Oct 2021; MEMO: A vehicle belonging to the Taliban was hit by an explosion in a town north of the capital Kabul today, Anadolu reports.

Two suspects were detained in a search operation after the incident that occurred in Charikar, the provincial capital of Parwan, said the Taliban government's spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

Mujahid added that several members of the terror group Daesh were killed in the operation and that some were captured alive.

28 Sep 2021; MEMO: The Taliban's acting justice minister vowed Tuesday to replace the Islamic Republic's Constitution with monarchy-era legislation from the 20th century, Anadolu Agency reported.

Abdul Hakim Sharaey made the announcement in a meeting with China's Ambassador to Kabul Wang Yu, according to a statement on the Facebook page of the Justice Ministry.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — The Taliban banned barbershops in a southern Afghanistan province from shaving or trimming beards, claiming their edict is in line with Shariah, or Islamic, law.

The order in Helmand province was issued Monday by the provincial Taliban government’s vice and virtue department to barbers in Lashkar Gah, the provincial capital.

JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- A blast rocked Jalalabad city, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, on Saturday with no report on casualties, local media reported.

The explosive device, according to local media reports, was placed in a flower base of a street and went off in the morning rush hour.

Security officials in the province have yet to make comments.

Since last Saturday, a series of bomb blasts shocked Jalalabad city and the hardliner Islamic State group has reportedly claimed responsibility.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — The Taliban hanged a dead body from a crane in the main square of Herat city in western Afghanistan, a witness said Saturday, in a gruesome display that signaled a return to some of the Taliban’s methods of the past.

Wazir Ahmad Seddiqi, who runs a pharmacy on the side of the square, told The Associated Press that four bodies were brought to the main square and three bodies were moved to other parts of the city for public display.

KABUL, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- The acting foreign minister of the newly-formed administration of Afghanistan said here Thursday that Afghanistan wants to have friendly relations with the international community, including the neighboring and regional countries.

"The Islamic Emirate wants to have friendly relations with the international community and co-exist with all the nations including the neighboring states. This is our message," Amir Khan Muttaqi said in his address at a ceremony to introduce the acting minister of commerce and industries.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Attackers struck Taliban vehicles in an eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday, witnesses said, killing at least two fighters and three civilians in the latest violence since the group’s takeover of the country in mid-August.

In one attack, gunmen opened fire on a Taliban vehicle at a local gas station in the provincial capital of Jalalabad, killing two fighters and a gas station attendant, witnesses said. A child was also killed, they added.
