New Delhi, Dec 31 (PTI) A commando of CRPF's jungle warfare unit CoBRA was injured in a Naxal triggered explosion in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Friday, officials said.

The improvised explosive device (IED) blast was followed by an exchange of fire between the troops on patrol and the Maoists around 1 pm along the Palodi-Kistaram axis of the district.

A personnel of the 208th battalion of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) has been injured during the anti-Naxal operation and he is being evacuated, they said.

Narayanpur, Nov 15 (PTI) A Naxal commander was killed in an encounter with security personnel in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district on Monday, a senior police official said.

The gunfight took place at around 11.30 am in the forest of Bahker under Chhotedongar police station limits when a team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) was out on an area domination operation, Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Girija Shankar Jaiswal said.

Raipur, Nov 10 (PTI) A 20-year-old police informer, who had also helped in the setting up of a police camp, was killed by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district, a senior official said on Wednesday.

The incident took place on Tuesday night when Umesh Markam, who was working as 'Gopniya Sainik' (secret police informer), was coming from his native Tetam village under Katekalyan police station limits to Dantewada town, he said.

Raipur, Nov 8 (PTI) Naxals have released five people, including a class 12 girl, who they had abducted from a village in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district two days back, police said on Monday.

These five people reached their village Bater under the Konta police station limits on Monday morning, Sukma Superintendent of Police Sunil Sharma said.

Some of them were reported to be assaulted by ultras, he added.

Dantewada, Nov 5 (PTI) A naxal carrying a reward of Rs five lakh on his head was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district on Friday, an official said.

The skirmish took place in a forest under Geedam police station area around 4 in the afternoon when a team of District Reserve Guard (DRG) of the police ran into a group of naxals, said Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava.

Korba, Sep 16 (PTI) A 28-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and raped over two days by three men in Chhattisgarh's Korba district, police said on Thursday.

Vijay Kanwar (30), Hiralal (26) and Ramlal Kanwar alias Balla (30) were arrested on Wednesday evening after the woman was rescued, they said. The trio allegedly abducted her on the afternoon of September 13 when she had gone to fetch water from a tap in the village located under Dipka police station limits, said Avinash Singh, local Station House Officer (SHO).

Rajnandgaon, Aug 17 (PTI) A police official has been arrested for allegedly raping the 15-year-old daughter of his domestic help in Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon district.

The accused had also allegedly attempted to kill the girl by setting her on fire, police said on Tuesday.

Assistant sub-inspector Narendra Gahine, posted at Chhuikhadan police station, was apprehended late Monday night after the girl's mother lodged a complaint, said G C Pati, Khairagarh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDOP).

Raipur, Aug 1 (PTI) A Raipur court has awarded life imprisonment to a 28-year-old man in a case of dowry death.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Vikram Pratap Chandra on Saturday convicted Ghanshyam alias Motu Narang, a resident of village Chhachhanpairi here under Mujgahan police station.

His wife Punni Bai was admitted to the Raipur-based DKS Super Speciality Hospital on February 2, 2019 for critical burn injuries and she died on February 7.

Raipur, Jul 28 (PTI) The Chhattisgarh government will launch a scheme under which landless families will be provided a financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced on Wednesday.

He was replying to the debate on demand proposals for the first supplementary budget of the financial year 2021-22.

After the discussion, the supplementary budget of Rs 2,485.59 crore was passed.

Sukma, Jul 25 (PTI) A Naxal was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Sunday, a police official said.

The gunfight took place in the wee hours at a forest near Minpa village under Chintagufa police station limits, located about 400 km the state capital Raipur, when a joint team of security forces was out on a search operation, Sukma Superintendent of Police Sunil Sharma told PTI.
