Lukashenko vows to publish fresh evidence on foiled assassination conspiracy in Belarus

MINSK, May 7. /TASS/: Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has promised to make public new factual information as part of the case of an attempted coup in Belarus.

"What you - journalists and intelligence agents - who carried out these operations and showed the public is nothing compared to what is going to happen next. You will be horrified at what we are going to show you," BelTA news agency quotes him as saying on Friday.

Belarus: Minsk ready to strike back with tit-for-tat measures against potential Western sanctions

MINSK, May 7. /TASS/: Belarus has put together retaliatory measures towards the West, in case it slaps new sanctions against the Belarusian state, Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei told journalists Friday.

"We’ve discussed these measures before, they have been prepared. They will fit the situation that is unfolding. Steps by both European and Western opponents won’t be left unanswered. These measures have indeed been hammered out, so we are awaiting further development of the situation and further decisions by our Western partners," the top Belarusian diplomat said.

Belarus: Gomel court sentences members of Tikhanovskaya team to jail terms for plotting riots

MINSK, May 4./TASS/: A district court in Gomel, Belarus, has sentenced three members from the action group of former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and one of her confidants to various prison terms, pronouncing them guilty for plotting mass unrest and seizure of administrative buildings, the prosecutor’s office of the Gomel Region said in a report uploaded to the website of the Belarusian General Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday.

Belarus: Lukashenko says $10mln allocated for his assassination

MINSK, April 24. /TASS/: Organizers of the assassination plot against Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko allocated $10 million to achieve the goal, Lukashenko told reporters on Saturday.

The BelTA news agency reported citing Lukashenko that armed people were to attack his residence in the countryside, that $10 million were allocated for this purpose and $1 million for the sniper.

Belarus to set up emergency procedure for transfering presidential power - Belta

(Reuters) --- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Saturday that he would sign a decree allowing the transfer of presidential power to the Belarusian security council if he became unable work as president, the state Belta news agency reported.

The prime minister would head the security council, if the president is absent, Lukashenko added.

Russia, Belarus to set up joint Air Force and Air Defense combat training center
